Tribute to

Zeus

The Statue of Zeus is a colossal monument made as a tribute for the god Zeus on the site where it was erected on the Island of Paxos. The monuments' destruction is known to have been caused by several soldiers from Argos with the sole purpose of toppling it. The soldiers rapidly destroy the legs of the statue, resulting in it's fall into the sea and causing a massive wave that nearly sinks Spyros' boat. As a result of this, suddenly from the depths of the ocean a horde of Furies appear and kill all the soldiers responsible for the destruction of the statue. However this statue may never have existed it is obvious that it's design was greatly inspired by the Statue of Zeus at Olympia.
